OOOOO THIS IS REALLY GOOD! i love how short yet sort of intense it is. you're dropped into a world, catch a glimpse of it and the dark underbelly of cloning research, realize that the mc is a shitty person-before they die, and you're left wondering. was the intruder a clone? someone fighting for the rights of clones? very interesting how they picked up the researcher's clone specifically. it felt personal, beating them before killing them. i want to know more.. good job!!
sorry it took me so long to reply to this! i wanted to watch your playthrough before i did and life got a little busy. but seriously thank you so very much for doing a playthrough and sharing your thoughts! im honored that you liked it and grateful you gave us your time <3
Man even though this game only lasts 10 minutes the slow reveal over that time just has that really sickening kick! Immediately at the "I wish I had been there" moment I was like What Did They Mean By This and the unraveling of it is so horrifying. Lovely work!
Oh, my gosh, this was so intense??? DANG. I'm just sitting here now... reeling slightly... I felt like during the 10 or so minutes the game lasted, I was just... thoroughly entranced, sucked in like a super intense scene in a movie that you've walked in on and despite not knowing the full context of what's going on, you can't look away, you can't stop watching. It was just so incredibly gripping from start to finish.
First the music??? Wonderfully unnerving and foreboding. At the beginning before the Intruder comes in, it gets you in a mood where you just know something's about to happen but you don't know what, and so you're on edge the whole time. Then when it continues with its subtly eerie repetitive tones once the violent descriptions start happening, it makes for this incredibly uneasy juxtaposition. Still eerie, but now also continuing on, the same as it had been except that horrible things are happening in the meanwhile, which creates this fantastic dissonance that makes the violent descriptions sting even harder.
ALSO THE USE OF THAT SOUND EFFECT.
MY GOD.
I jumped in my chair every single time??? Especially the first time I might have even gave a slightly audible eep LMAO. It was incredibly effective. And it made it feel even more immersive, like, the descriptions of what the Intruder is doing to us mixed with this guttural slam just really clenches it and makes us feel every horrible description down in our bones. And also, like, sitting there wondering when the next one will come makes us feel as on edge as the MC waiting for the next hit.
AND OF COURSE THE ART. The art is gorgeous??? That BG my god. And the Intruder's sprite, as well. Everything is fantastic. And I LOVE the use of the color wash over everything that also matches the color wash of this page?? It's ridiculously lovely and really ties everything together. Particularly the use of colors that normally appear rather bright and cheery but now evoking a sort of visceral fear because of the music and repeated slamming sound effect that already has our nerves dancing.
GUH.
Just.
An absolutely excellent example of how to hook someone from start to finish and keep them on edge the whole time. And I'm so intrigued now?? About this world??? And what's going on???? And are we actually this horrible person????????? I'm left with so many questions and also what is the Intruder going to do with our clone now HELP. AND WHO IS HE ANYWAY.
OK one last comment but god did some of those descriptions really get under my skin LOL
Anyway. I'm done rambling now. This was just such a ride and experience. Really fantastic job!!!
this is such a flattering comment??? like sincerely thank you for taking the time to write something so thorough ♡ ♡ so glad u took the time to play and enjoyed it <333
LOVE a story that changes so drastically in tone with hindsight, and INTRUDER did that wonderfully despite its restrictions. would love another glimpse into this world! 🛠🧬
I love this format. I played another game from this jam and it’s so amazing how different it is in story and concept but still just as fantastic. I loved the world building you did with so little text and the sound effect was genius. The ending was so abrupt but worked for me, I had questions and theories :D Great job.
hula!! this is amazing. i watched your video and im so incredibly flattered that picked our game to do for a playthrough. you did a lovely reading and i really enjoyed your commentary. thank you so much for giving your time to this game and for sharing your video with us!! <3
Thanks so much for a wonderful story and game. I added your itch page to the video description as well, so people (and I) can also check out your other projects.
Wow... Disturbing and poignant. Our team really enjoyed this short, dark examination of humanity. We especially loved the gory, visceral imagery. Fantastic work!
incredible. stressed me out so much (in a good way)
the descriptions are so visceral, and you learn so much about the characters in so little time. i had to re-read the beginning when i realized my assumptions about the POV character were uh. Wrong (tm), and then it was like "oh yeah. the signs were there i just did not see them"
wow thank you so much for this. im glad it was a good stressed out. and i'm glad the little foreshadowing bits landed on the second read. thanks for taking the time to play <3
i didn't expect the soundeffects!! had my volume on HIGH! i was very immersed and it made me jump! really really good! i also loooove the character design! really great work <3
WOAH!!! The art, the atmosphere, the soundtrack, the story, everything is beautiful c: also you made the one sound effect rule work so well! with the descriptions it really didn’t feel like one sound effect there was so much action going on in my head
ahhhh thank you so much!!! i'm glad the sound worked well, i was afraid it would become repetitive or just not interesting, so thanks for pointing that out <3
thank you for this!! thrilled the sound effect landed for you, we had a whole convo about it. it's really nice to know it worked. thank you for playing! <3

omg thank you!!! so glad you enjoyed <3
thank you for playing 🩸
I love a story where your conception of the narrative flips, and text you'd previously disregarded becomes disturbingly relevant in hindsight.
Everything works in concert with the jam's limitations, rather than working in spite of it. Awesome job.
thank you so much for playing, friend. this is a lovely comment. <3
this is such a thoughtful comment. thank you so much for taking the time to play <3 im glad it really landed for you.
